WTN: Never break, never break...this Heart of Stone

2009 Clos Saron Syrah "Heart of Stone" - USA, California, Sierra Foothills (9/27/2017)
Third bottle out of four from my cellar. The first was transformative. The second was a disaster. This one was in line with the first, and a little more mature. The core Syrah elements (dark fruit, tar, meat) were supplemented by a clean (!!) leather element, and the palate was full-flavored without being overpowering. The tannins were still quite strong, so further cellaring would be recommended, but overall it was the kind of wine experience that drives my passion. It was not really something that could be put into words, and that's when it's the most fun.
