Thomas Pinot Noirs from Oregon?

by Jenise » Fri Sep 29, 2017 4:04 pm

Just did a quick search and didn't find a single comment on these wines. Has anyone tasted one?

They're apparently the cultiest pinot noirs made in Oregon. And very small production: it's a one-man operation, and he only made 719 cases this year. So demand's sky high and so pretty much are prices. A friend's going to cut me in on his allocation, so I'll get some this year.

I had not, JC, thanks for digging that up. This part: " A cult wine with no winery website, very small estate production allocated to a mailing list. Very difficult to track down access to mailing list. Often sold at 2 to 3 times release price on secondary market." is approximately all I knew. Anyway, got a six pack coming!

I will be interested in your tasting notes. Now that I think about it, I may have tried a Thomas Pinot Noir at an event at Enoteca Vin in Raleigh some years ago. I found the wine complex and enjoyable if that was the winery indeed that was in a tasting along with other producers.
