Did some more bottom feeding at TraderJoe's on the rec of a friend:
1. CeciliaBaretta Soraie IGT: Veneto ("from partially dried grapes"; 40% Merlot/30% Corvina/20% Cabernet/10% Croatina; www.LatitudeWines.com, Danville) Verona 2014: Med.dark color; rather earthy/dusty/mineral fairly grapey/lush/blackberry/boysenberry/ripe slight pungent/acrid/burning steel wool rather ripe slight raisined/pruney fairly pleasant nose; soft very ripe/bit raisened quite grapey/earthy/dusty bit Merlot/grapey/lush flavor w/ light ripe/soft tannins; long lush/ripe/grapey slight raisined/very ripe bit earthy/dusty/rough somewhat soft finish w/ light smooth/ripe tannins; definitely not Merlot and definitely Recioto or Amarone but actually quite a pleasant/grapey if very ripe red. $9.00 (TJ)

1. Wasn't sure what to expect from this wine. It struck me more along the lines of a ripasso, than a Amarone/Recioto. And fortunately no Merlot character that I could identify. A perfectly pleasant red for the $'s, but won't bother to buy it again.
