2015 Enfield Wine Co. Pinot Noir Antle - USA, California, Central Coast, Chalone (10/26/2017)
Tasted over two nights, this is the second vintage of Antle Pinot from Enfield Wine Co. and the second vintage that I really like. This one feels a little bit sterner than the 2014. The aromatics skew more towards darker fruit, though there are herbal and floral tones that provide some brightness. On the palate the fruit is a bit more inward focused, and the tannins get a little bit more grippy on the finish than the 2014. All that said, I really like the balance of fruit and structure, and think there is serious upside to the wine. I am always looking for structure to balance the fruit of California Pinot, and this has it.

I wonder if Heron Lake Vineyard was damaged, David? (He may not even be using it anymore). That was on the ridgeline between Solano and Napa Counties, I recall.

I think John is no longer associated with Heron Lake.

Not positive.
