2008 Gunderloch Nackenheim Rothenberg Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Rheinhessen (11/25/2017)Now nine years post vintage, this has come into clear focus. Hard white peach, mango, and mint dominate the nose, and it has a fresh, bright palate presence. It’s still relatively large scaled, but it feels like Spatlese, rather than Auslese forced into a Spatlese bottle. Not much in the way of developed notes yet, so still lots of cellar potential.
