2012 Masút Pinot Noir Mendocino

Aging more beautifully than the 70's song about the place, and just starting to pick up secondary nuances. An excellent but unusual pinot in that it doesn't share the typicity of other CA appellations. There's no cherry, no red licorice, no cola nut or tomato, there's no pie spice like Russian River pinots, nor is it plummy with Asian spices like most Oregons. Instead it's boysenberry, bay leaf, Darjeeling tea and cassia bark. Exotic. Still expecting peak around 2020 but the acidity might boost it into 2022-2025.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
