Tried this last night w/ pasta:
1. Ott Am Berg GrunerVeltliner (11.5%; TerryTheiseSlctn; www.Ott.At) Feuersbrunn/Niederosterreich 2016: Light gold color w/ some small bubbles; strong very spicy/GV/floral/white pepper/carnations light earthy/stony very attractive nose; lightly tart bit CO2/refreshed/tangy some GV/spicy/floral/carnations slight white pepper/GV light stony/chalky pleasant flavor; med.short lightly tart/bit CO2/refreshed/shallow some GV/floral/carnations/white pepper light earthy/chalky finish; an altogether pleasant GV but just that; lacks depth and shallow on the palate. $19.00 (KK)
A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I liked quite a bit the nose on this wine and high hopes. But it's one of those refreshed by CO2 or residual CO2 from fermentation, which often gives an ersatz acidity and a shallowness on the palate. The regular IngridGroiss blows this away at the same price.
