Picked up these two cheapies at ArroyoVino on Sat to try:
1. Marques de Caceres Deusa Nai Albarino Dd'O: RiasBaixas/Galicia (13%) Rosal/Espana 2016: Med.light gold color; strong floral/carnations/apple blossom/slight pineapple very light chalky rather pleasant nose; bit soft light floral/pineapple/carnations slight metallic/tangy bit simple flavor; med.long soft light floral/pineapple/carnations/apple blossom slight tangy/metallic rather simple almost vapid finish; a pleasant enough nose but rather dilute/simple on the palate; somr disolved CO2 that releases large bubbles on swirling but no CO2 on the palate; pleasant enough Albarino but a bit vapid. $16.00 (AV)

Mayu PedroXimenez HuantaVnyd DO: Valle de Elqui (13.5%; www.Mayu.Cl; Vine Connections/Sausalito) Vicuna/Chile 2016: Light gold color; rather steely/metallic/fresh metal slight earthy rather quiet/low-key nose; some tart/tangy/bit grapefruity/metallic some earthy bit dilute not a lot of flavor; rather short bit tart/metallic some earthy/dusty rather dilute/quiet/low-key finish; a rather characterless/dull wine cropped at 10 tons/acre; not at all interesting as I would expect. $14.00 (AV)
