2008 Williams and Selyem Pinot Noir 'Precious Mountain'
Paired it with a five spice rubbed roast duck with a hoisin-orange drizzle. Great choice. Decanted two hours and consumed over two more. Very plummy dark fruit and youthful color, only teetering on the edge of leathery secondary notes.

While sipping, we reminisced over our long association with this winery--had our first in Alaska, where we lived at the time, thanks to a big electrician named Tom Brown. Swept off our feet by that wine I got on the mailing list to be on the mailing list and waited several years for our first allocation. And then came our first two-bottle delivery: in person, by Ed Selyem himself. He was on his way to Homer "and I went right past your house, so why not". Indeed, why not?

The TV show Northern Exposure was closer to reality than any of you really know.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
