Château de Béru 2014 Chablis, Clos Béru, "Monopole." Light straw color, inviting nose; fresh salted and gingered apple on the palate. This is long, rich, and well-structured without being sharply cut. Not explicitly yeasty, but there's a roundness here, a lack of aggression, that reminds me a little of a biscuity Champagne. The second Béru I've had recently, and they've both been noteworthy for the way they combine intensity of flavor with a gentleness that I find surprising in a young Chablis. Delicious with Muenster and with a simple vegetarian pasta dinner.
