Wanted a decent white last night, so cracked:
1. Rosi Schuster GrunerVeltliner/GemischterSatz Aus den Dorfen Qualitatswein (12.5%; 90% GV+ GemischterSatz of
2% Wleschriesling/MuscatOttonel/Weissburgunder/ Neuberger/ Furmint; Trocken) RusterBerg/St.Margarethen/Burgenland 2015
: color; very perfumed/fragrant intense GV/white pepper/spicy/floral slight stony/wet pebbles/refreshing/bracing beautiful nose; rather tart/tangy bit steely/metallic intense GV/white pepper/very spicy/bit nutmeg quite rich/lush/mouthfilling/plush light stony/chalky lovely flavor; very long/lingering intense GV/floral/white pepper/spicy/nutmeg rich/lush/textured lightly tart/tangy slight stony/wet pebbles beautiful finish; a beautiful spicy smaargd-level GV at a stupid/silly price. $20.00 (K&L)
A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I tasted this back in early April, fresh off the boat from K&L:
Med.light gold color; bit SO2/reductive/pungent slight floral/GWT-like/lychee rather earthy/GV/slight
white pepper some complex interesting/atypical GV nose; somewhat tart rather earthy light/low-key GV/white
pepper slight tangy/metallic/earthy flavor; very long earthy some GV/white pepper rather rich/lush finish;
not the perfume of the other GV's but quite an interesting white in a quiet/low-key way.

I was not terribly overwhelmed by this wine back in April. Clearly I am now.
2. First became acquainted w/ from Emily's WineMonger. He makes some of the best Blaufrankisch and St.Laurent in the Burgenland. When I was over there almost 2 rs ago, I gifted Hannes a btl of MattRorick's F-H St.Laurent, which he professed to like a lot.
