My spouse and two of my new colleagues all have the surname Frank -- though none of them are related -- so it seemed fitting that our first locally purchased Finger Lakes wine would be a Dr. Konstantin Frank 2017 Finger Lakes Dry Riesling. And, to be (he wouldn't, would he?) honest (whew), it's pretty dang good. The nose suggests ripe, sweet stone fruit and citrus curdbut the palate turns dry and lightly minerally, though not austere; medium weight, well put-together, and eminently drinkable. Plus: $16 a bottle. At that price, this could become a house white. Looking forward to tasting more.
cheers, Patchen
