Cracked this open for dinner last night:
1. Forlorn-Hope QueSaudade Verdelho DeWittVnyd/AmadorCnty (127 cs; 14.3%) Fairfield 2009: Med.dark gold color slightly cloudy; strong floral/carnations/Verdelho bit orangey/honeyed light pungent/earthy/bit smokey/waxy fairly complex nose; bit tart/tangy/metallic some stony/mineral/chalky/earthy fairly rich very slight nutty/waxy slight floral/carnations rather complex flavor; very long some floral/carnations/grapefruity/Verdelho somewhat earthy/stony/chalky slight pungent/smokey savory almost phenolic/waxy fairly complex finish; lost most of the fresh/youthful Verdelho fruit but has developed some really interesting secondary character; a bit like an old Calif Semillon w/o the oak, a bit like an old-timey Spanish/slightly oxidized white; quite a fascinating/interesting rather savory white; probably should drink up.

1. This probably came from one of my first purchases from Matt and got lost in the shuffle. Right next to two of his DeuxMathieux PetiteSirah. I didn't expect much when I plucked this out of my stash but it way overdelivered. I was quite taken by how this had evolved. Rather big/rich/alcoholic for a F-H white.
