2017 Adega Coop. Ponte de Lima Vinho Verde Rose' from Portugal. Labeled as 11.5% abv. Screwcap. The color is a pale pink with maybe a touch of pale orange. On the palate, crisp, tingly with flavors of red berries meeting up with citrus. It has a longer finish than I usually note with rose' wines. Good flavor and balance. I liked it--worth repurchasing.
2012 Scherrer Dry Rose', Sonoma County, CA. 13% abv. Pretty coral hue. Tart red fruit with solid acidity. I find red berries, pomegranate and lemon juice. Medium body and palate presence. Always reliable but surprisingly fresh for a 2012.
I recently shared a sparkling Italian rose' at a pool party but did not make notes. It was quite enjoyable and was purchased after sampling it at a wine dinner at Rue Cler Restaurant in Durham. (Also a good QPR.)
