Cannabis versus wine in California

by Mike_F » Sat Oct 13, 2018 5:02 am

Another interesting article from The Economist. Has anybody actually seen the Marijuana-infused Sauvignon Blanc that they mention?

I've never seen it, Mike, but I've heard from reliable sources that some wine makers have been known to produce a ... special cuvee for their own use and that of friends ...

Haven't seen it, but once upon a time I happened to be present when a certain famed Cali winemaker with an alphabetical winery name was pouring his own, and I got a tiny taste. :)

That would be one of the wine makers who's mentioned this cuvee to me ...

But you didn't get a taste?

I only had the smallest sip, but I've tasted something very similar though not for the same reason in a few other SB's since. Of course, in TN's, I refer to it as 'oregano'.

No, because I talked to him at an event here in Louisville. :) I don't imagine it's wise to take that cuvee through airports.
