WS: NY Wineries Sued.....

by TomHill » Tue Oct 30, 2018 10:07 am

Interesting article in the WineSpec about NY State wineries being sued:
over the fact that their WebSites cannot be read by the visually impaired and the blind. Huh?? Is thus nutsiness raised to a whole nuther level?? Hope someone can edumacate me on this issue.

Ms. Wu sure has been to a lot of wineries. I wonder if she realizes it? (Little blind joke there....)

Well, I can see where there is a lot of merit to this. After all, blind drivers need to know how much alcohol they're consuming if they want to drive home safely.

(FWIW, just a couple of years ago I did a story on some handicapped people who were apparently making a good living going into public restrooms and changing areas with tape measures, and suing under the ADA if any measurement (height of hand rails, even height of coat hooks on the backs of doors) was even a fraction off. It was only a very, very small minority of that population who were so aggressively rapacious, but it was still sad to realize that anyone would capitalize on their physical misfortune that way.)
