2015 Matthiasson Chardonnay Michael Mara Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (11/22/2018)
Served with the Thanksgiving turkey, this showed bright apple, pear and citrus fruit, as well as light spice notes. It had fresh acidity, making a good foil for some of the dishes that weighed heavier on the palate (e.g. stuffing & the gravy). Light to medium bodied, it felt like a short-term drinker, but a satisfying bottle of Chardonnay that enlivened the palate.

Yup, David...pretty much my take on this wine as well. Nothing earthshaking and much in Steve's style, but just lip-smackin' good.

It's sad that there does not really seem to be a place for wines like these (except your and my cellars). There's not enough volume to impress the big wine crowd, and they are too true to their California roots for the euro-centric.

You're getting this from winery? I've enjoyed a couple lower end Matthiassons (rose and Tendu) but seldom see at retail, except occasionally the flagship red, and at $75+ not my usual experiment range
