2001 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (12/24/2018)
Continuing a Christmastime tradition of opening the 2001 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spatlese, and it’s a grand tradition. Vibrant tropical and citrus fruit flavors are wrapped around a firm, acid core. The finish is broad yet piercing, the depth of flavor punctuated by the acidity. Long, gingery lemon and vanilla elements dominate the finish, and pull me back for another sip, then another sip. It’s a compelling wine, and only now in early midlife. There are years to go, and probably many more secrets to be revealed.

Great title.

Always jealous to hear about your deep 2001 stash, but sounds great!
