I don't drink a lot of dolcetto, young old or otherwise, but I have been drinking and enjoying Barale of various ages so I was intrigued to see this come across the offerings. Jamie W assured me that it should be more than just an odd curiosity, so I was game to try.
It still has a solid sweet core of fruit balanced with mellowed aged texture and a non-necrophiliac nose-full of aged aromas. In other words, there is plenty to enjoy. Not the longest or most amazing wine, but on balance I came out a winner!
