Betsy’s sister came to dinner, first course was mushroom dumplings with bok choy in a dashi broth
2010 Dr. Deinhard Ruppertsberger Riesling Kabinett Halbtrocken (liter)
Limeade, Fresca, a little herby. Not complex but good value. B-

Duck breast with 5 spice, Asian sweet potatoes, salad.
2015 Michel Gay Chorey-les-Beaune Vieilles Vignes
Ripe black cherry, some tannin, fleshy, could use a little more cut. B-

Saturday black seabass with a Korean chile paste sauce, ginger rice, and Sigeumchi-namul (Korean style spinach)
2015 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Ur Alte Reben Riesling Feinherb
Offdry, peach and mango, good backbone, delicious but young. B+

Some friends over Sunday, we started with bresaola and pate, then a great one pan dish of chicken thighs cooked on top of bread/prune/kale/herb stuffing, accompanied by salad, then Beaufort cheese and an apple tart

2016 Thomas Collardot “Les Petits Poiriers”Bourgogne Blanc
Bigger styled but with some backing acids, good white fruits, tangy mineral finish. B/B+

2015 Guimaro Finca Meixeman (Ribeira Sacra)
Spicy, smoked meats, floral, high toned black fruit. Good length. A-/B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
