by TomHill » Tue Mar 05, 2019 10:11 am

Went 1, maybe 0, for 4 last night:
1. David Coffaro Barbera DCV (15.0%; U/U) 2003:
2. David Coffaro Zin DCV (15.1%; U/U) 2003:
3. David Coffaro MyZin DCV (14.9%; U/U) 2003: Closed with the spongy NeoCork; rather murkey brown color; unpleasant tired oldZin some oxidized nose; totally shot on the palate; dead & gone.

4. Turley PetiteSirah RattlesnakeRidge/HowellMtn (15.6%) 2009: Very dark/near black color w/ slight bricking; slightly reduced/pungent strong licorice/blackberry/boysenberry/ripe/PS/slight peppery bit toasty/pencilly/Fr.oak bit earthy/mushroomy/HowellMtn/herbal bit complex nose; bit soft slight tangy/metallic bit drying out/astringent some PS/blackberry/licorice/pungent/slight peppery rather toasty/smokey/oak flavor w/ modest drying tannins; long rather tangy/metallic/drying out/astringent some blackberry/licorice/PS/pungent/slight peppery bit earthy/HM mushroomy finish w/ modest rough/drying/astringent tannins; a somewhat rough/clunky/earthy/oafish PS that's headed south.
