2018 Long Shadows Wineries Sauvignon Blanc Cymbal Columbia Valley
This is a STUNNING Sauv Blanc of a very different breed for WA state and also the debut vintage of this addition to the Long Shadows line-up. No gooseberries, no kaffir lime leaf, no citrus basket, no muskiness, no searing grapefruit, no big dominant flavors. And probably no stainless steel. Rather, more in the elegant French style, a symphony of low tones with subtle oak spice and minerals that carry into a long finish.
2016 Long Shadows Wineries Pirouette Columbia Valley Red Bordeaux Blend
Lots of good elements but awkwardly chocolatey and raw for current drinking. Ideal drinking window is several years away.
2016 Rôtie Cellars Northern Blend Walla Walla Valley Syrah Blend
Nothing but good news here: none of the prunes detected by others in recent CT notes, and not low-acid like the bottle that disappointed me about three months ago. Rather, notes of fresh plums, beef jerky, that terrific Rocks funk and everything in balance.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
