2016 Gran Moraine Chardonnay Yamhill-Carlton
Opened for J&A. This vintage is clearly not going to live up to the bar set by the nervy '15, but it's showing better now than it did initially, with integrated lemony fruit and mineral notes and a sweeter finish.

2016 The Walls Vineyards Chardonnay La Lutte White Salmon Columbia Gorge

Opened for J&A. This has put on weight in all the right places. Still a leaner style, but minerally and precise in a Burgundian way and this outshined all previous bottles and the Gran Moraine above. A truly exceptional example of what's possible with Gorge fruit.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
