WTN: Made glorious summer by this son of Yorkville

2018 Halcon Vineyards Esquisto - USA, California, North Coast, Yorkville Highlands (11/9/2020)
No doubt drinking this too soon, but it’s 2020, so corks will fly!

First impression is that this reminds me a lot of the Edmunds St. John Rocks & Gravel bottling. It’s more fruit forward, but there is the same dusty, leathery base that makes R&G so good. Good acids, and a hint of back end tannic structure provide a solid framework, but not so stern to prevent immediate enjoyment. If I had another bottle I would hold it for a couple of years, but this is certainly enjoyable now.
