Run Rabbit..run run run!!!

Well it was a very interesting evening. Two different rabbit stews, one savoury, one sweeter in a fresh tomato sauce. Briefly the Mogadouro Tas-os-Montes did not match either dish but a 2020 Girlan Vernatsch from Sudtirol was great. From BC, we had a ripasso style from Averill Creek, Joue Red Field blend.
Finished off with a Greenpointe Cocktail and Lustau Amontillado Los Arcos. Managed to walk home!!

Averill Creek.....This Cowichan Valley Field Blend Red uses the Italian method of Ripasso to create an incomparably juicy, quaffable red of substantial quality made from a non-disclosed field blend of mixed grape varietals. Easy to drink more than few glasses before you appreciate the layers and generous structure with all that exploding vibrancy. Finished in used Pinot Noir barrels. Very pleasurable drink that has plenty of structure and texture to counterweight the freshness and generous fruit. The blend is undisclosed.

Mogadouro Portugal...this was a head scratcher. As I said did not match any of the stews. One day later jammy, blackcurrant. Not at all what I expected from this region..Tras os Montes.
