WTN: Two Ottins from the Val d'Aosta...(short/boring)

Tried these up in Breckenridge over the Christmas week:
1. Ottin PetiteArvine Dd'OP: Vallee d'Aoste (14.5%; OldWorldImprts/Edwards/CO; www.ottinvini.it/) Ottin Elio 2019: Med.gold color; quite fragrant floral/Alpine white flowers/gardenias/edelweiss some stony/mineral lovely perfumed nose; quite tart/tangy stony/mineral some steely/metallic lightly floral/Alpine white flowers/gardenias bright/vibrant/laser sharp flavor; very long/lingering steely/metallic/mineral light floral/Alpine flowers/gardenias finish; quite a lovely expression of PetiteArvine w/ lots of mineral character. $34.00 (BWM)

Ottin Torrette Superieur Dd'OP: Vallee d'Aoste (13.5%; PetiteRouge/Cornalin/Fumin) 2019: Very dark color; intense blackberry/boysenberry/licorice/PetiteRouge/grapey some earthy/dusty/OV bit smokey/oak some graphite beautiful complex nose; bit soft very rich/lush very strong blackberry/boysenberry/licorice/plummy/rather PetiteRouge some earthy/dusty/OV light pencilly/oak some complex flavor w/ light chewey tannins; very long/lingering strong licorice/boysenberry/blackberry/plummy light pencilly/oak lightly structured finish w/ light chewey tannins; a lovely expression of PetiteRouge w/ loads of grapey character; this is how they would make PasoRobles in the Alps if they could. $36.00 (BWM)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Ottin is a new Val d'Aosta producer to me. I liked both these wines quite a lot. They were at the BoulderWineMerchant and from a new Importer with whom I was not familiar. It seems that CO has a fair number of importers of Italian wines. To which I attribute that to the influence of BobbyStuckey/Frasca in Boulder.

Actually, this isn't a new producer for you; you reported on some Ottins back in 2019 that you tasted at an Idlewild Sunday School. I found them recently when looking up the petite arvine grape to see if it had ever been talked about here, me being so smitten with the version I came across in the last few months. (Not Ottin, someone else.) I'd not seen these wines before nor had any from the Val d'Aosta that I knew of.
