- 2015 Le Piane Boca - Italy, Piedmont, Northern Piedmont, Boca (2/20/2022)
Popped and poured, and initially there was an overpowering note of black licorice. I HATE black licorice! Thankfully it settled down to be a nuance, and more red fruit and floral filled in the picture. Still not exactly my cup of tea, but nothing objectively wrong with it. If you like black licorice this is your wine!

2015 Le Piane Boca - Italy, Piedmont, Northern Piedmont, Boca (9/14/2022)Thankfully this was quite unlike my first bottle, which was a black licorice parade. This time it was more focused on red (ripe strawberry) fruit, with the licorice just a nuance. Lots of acid, so it cut through the fat of the pizza. Not exactly easy to drink on its own, but enjoyable with the food.
