WTN: Drew Syrah PerliVnyd MendoRidge '17....(short/boring)

We had this Drew Syrah the other week:
1. Drew Syrah PerliVnyd/MendoRidge (13.8%; 20 yr old vnyd farmed by SteveAlden; McDowell & ENTAV 877 clones; 100% w-c; Drk: 2018-2028: JD) 2017: Very dark color; bit milk of magnesia/reductive rather c-c/black peppery strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy bit pencilly/oak slight earthy bit ozone/graphite rather complex beautiful nose; fairly tart rather c-c/black pepper very strong blackberry/Syrah/quite spicy light toasty/oak slight pungent/graphite rather complex flavor w/ modest/tangy tannins; very long/lingering rather structured lightly tart strong blackberry/Syrah/spicy/c-c/peppery light graphite/pungent bit pencilly/oak fairly complex finish w/ modest tannins; speaks strongly of c-c/Syrah/peppery; one of the best Drew Syrahs yet; can benefit from 3-6 yrs of age; lovely wine. $40.80

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Jason & Molly make Syrah from atop MendoRidge from the Perli & the Valenti vnyds. I don't see a strong difference between the two Syrahs. Bot show a classic c-c/black pepper color. Their Syrahs are my favorite wines they make.
