- 2012 Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (3/14/2024)
Last had this two years ago, and it was very youthful. Last night it was very youthful. It's a rich, but not excessively sweet Kabinett, and there's ample underlying acidity. Served blind I might have guessed someone's Spatlese Feinherb. Beyond the structure/form, this needs several more years, as it still seems a bit closed. Lots of depth, but not translated into outward character. That's consistent with most of my 2012 experiences - the wines are evolving very slowly.

thanks for note. I think I have 2 bottles of this, but will definitely hold. If I feel compelled to open '12s (which might be a mistake), will go with those I have multiple bottles of,

All this 2012 talk is interesting. I have some 2012 Heymann-Löwenstein GGs that I had planned to open soon (although no rush). Cellartracker suggests they are drinking well, although dry wines may be different curve than the rs wines.
