2020 Acorn Grüner Veltliner Alegría Vineyards Russian River Valley
Has lost the bland austerity of two years ago and filled out well. Very dry with moderate fruit intensity. Only disappointment, if there is one since the California sun seems to quash typicity for cool climate grapes such that one isn't expecting much typicity, is that it doesn't show any real GV character.

2022 Charles Joguet Chinon Rosé Cabernet Franc
Beautifully balanced strawberry, spice and herb notes. Pure class, as one would expect from Joguet.

2015 Domaine Blachon St. Joseph Cuvée Hommage Roger Blachon Syrah

Decanted over an hour before serving; no sediment. Bright black fruit flavors with smoke, a hint of barnyard and evolution appropriate to its age. Pleasant with our corned beef dinner but not particularly special.

You know I'm a Joguet fan, but I didn't even know they made a rose!

Wow, really? This one's imported by Kermit Lynch. Grabbed two in January; wasn't exactly in rose-buying mode but knew I'd be sorry if I passed them up.
