WTN: 1999 Saint Cosme Côtes du Rhône

Dug this one out of my dad’s cellar expecting zombie wine at best. Well shockingly it’s not only alive but interesting. Meaty and more than a little feral, it’s old school Southern Rhône wine in its bloody, herbal, and slightly surly best. I kept going back for more not just because it was good, but also because it recalled an era, an archetype of the Southern Rhône. There’s another bottle in the cellar, and I hope it’s this good. Will need to pick appropriately gamey, rustic food to accompany it.

What a great find--and just the plain CdR no less.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Nope... not just a "plain CdR" but a StCosme. Consistently one of the best producers in SRhone.
Not the least bit surprised it's still alive.
