Yes, '09 was a hot vintage in Oregon. That's a producer I haven't tried yet.

Dale - was this meant as a response to something?

An Matello is Goodfellow before it was Goodfellow.

Um, unsure what that was. I didn't write that. I posted a note, that looks like someone else's response under my name. Weird. This is what I posted

No wine Monday with takeout Chinese at office.

Tuesday was a shrimp/spinach curry, with rice and the 2020 Trimbach Reserve Riesling. I don’t have much experience of this bottling, but as CFE has gone up in pricing decided to try. Really enjoyed, snappy acids, apple and lemon, orange zest. There’s structure here, but fun to drink now, and a good stony finish. B++

Wednesday salmon in an anchovy/garlic butter, potatoes, broccolini, and salad. Wine was the 2009 Matello “Hommage” Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley). Black cherry and raspberry, a little coffee, some good juicy acids but a little bit of heat on finish. 14.2% , assume 2009 was hot year in Oregon. Nice wine I’d have even liked more with less octane. B/B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
