2013 Von Strasser Cabernet Sauvignon Post Vineyard Diamond Mountain
My comments on a bottle one year ago indicate red fruit in a St. Julien style. Not this one: concentrated black fruit with dark chocolate, herbs and deceptively firm tannins demand serious attention. On it's on it's way to better things as proven by being left uncorked overnight and retasted 24 hours later. A very classy Napa cab with one of the most beautiful labels ever printed there.

2010 Prelude A Grand-Puy Ducasse Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend
Not a fan of seconds, but for $25 (orig price) and 14 years, this Bordeaux this was impressive. Fairly primary with boisterous black fruit and coffee notes on day one, dialed back on day two (as expected), and in full splendor on day three with a strong black licorice bent. Not dying any time soon.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Interesting change in how the Von Strasser presented itself.

Yeah, it's odd. I just discovered that my inventory shows one bottle remaining of their more generic not-single vineyard cabernet. But in fact I don't have it, and instead I have one more of this bottling than I thought. I'm pretty meticulous in my inventory management, but it's possible that I erred in reporting one bottle as the other. Would explain the difference.

We’ve all made those mistakes.
