Cracked this last night for dinner:
1. Arnot-Roberts RibollaGialla VareVnyd/NapaVlly (12.2%; 3 brls) Arnot-Roberts/Healdsburg 2015: Med.dark gold color; very attractive white-pepper/RG/floral/dandelions bit herbal/new mown hay/hay loft slightly dusty/OV bit honeyed/graham cracker very interesting/complex nose; quite tart/tangy bit metallic/steely quite savory/crunchy strong RG/white-pepper/herbal/haymow light earthy/stony slight honeyed/graham crackers very dry/bit austere rather complex flavor; very long/lingering herbal/hay mow/graham crackers complex finish that tracks flavor; no obvious phenolic/skin-contact character but the graham cracker suggests there may have been some limited skin-contact; quite a good savory/crunchy RG as good as any from Friuli.

More ricklefrick from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. I recall this wine at release as being very austere/lean & not very attractive. The wine has really developed into a nice mature RG. Will probably still go another 4-8 yrs is my guess.
GeorgeVare is, of course, the first to bring in RG to Calif. Suitcase clone. A lot of different producers have made RG from his grapes over the yrs. Since he died, not sure where most of his grapes are going now.
