Nice article by Eric in today's NYTimes:
[PeterSichel](
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/04/dini ... ticleShare)
on the death of PeterSichel at 102. He had a long & distinguished career w/ the CIA afore he took over his family's wine business. He was, of course, the inventor of BlueNun Liebfraumilch.
Interesting read it is.

CIA training was perfect for Blue Nun - nobody needs to know what's in it!

Well, David... I had plenty of Blue Nunn way back when and thought it was pretty cool to have a German wine. I gradually lost my taste for it because of the r.s.
But then I tried a Liebfrauenkirch Kirkunstuck Riesling and realized Liebfraumilch could actually be good.
