Sorry no notes on the new Sekt -will post soon.

Terrassen Wechelsberg 2006
Riesling/GV/Neuberger
Pear and apple fruit, not much mineral showing yet, decent acidity. Still finding its legs -good and well balanced.

Anna de Leitenschaft 2004
GV/Sauvignon/Chardonnay 1/3 ea. -16 mo in Barrique
Pineapple, almond, coconut cream pie, banana and honeycomb. Broad shouldered, but not unbalanced. A little too much baby fat. Not my style.

Zweigelt 2005
18 mo. In Barrique
Very international –Syrah-like. Black cherry, sweet red pepper, black peeper corn, tobacco. Very good, but expensive.

Young 2006
GV/Sauvignon/Muskateller
White peach, lemon, lean and sharp acidity. Muscadet minus mineral –very pleasant and well named.

Grüner Veltliner Kabinett 2006
Bigger than ’05, but screaming value yet again. Granny smith apple, crunchy green bell pepper, dusting of white pepper spice. Classic with excellent acidity. –Love it!

Grüner Veltliner Loisium Weingarten ‘Steven Holl’ 2005
Speaks of elegance with finesse and a seamless transition between the apple fruit into gunsmoke and flint and salty stone mineral. Very nice with hefty acidity.

Grüner Veltliner Kittmannsberg 2006
Pineapple and starfruit, shortbread. More sea salt mineral, but sappier and more powerful. White pepper spice –all the makings of a long-lived GV

Grüner Veltliner Loisium Weingarten 2006
A little more push and emergence of mineral compared with the ’05. Much of the same fruit character, but more on the side of lime and noticeably juicier.

Grüner Veltliner Grand Grü 2005
14.5% Alc, but not boozy
Round and tropical –Feels rather more like Macon Chardonnay than Kamptal GV. Showy, but not enormous. Holds its acid and alcohol well.

Riesling Kabinett 2006
Very perfumed with apricot, flower petals, but minimal minerality. Shows its youth, but still has some class. One to watch.

Riesling Novemberlese 2006
HEY NOW! Zesty peach fruit and aromatic like getting smacked by a bouquet of flowers. Snappy and fresh, but with muscle and tinderbox mineral. Superior!

Grüner Veltliner Novemberlese 2006
Hmmm…Sweet pineapple, honey, caramel and Danish butter. Lots of RS –stopped fermenting at 15 % alc. Acidity? Where are you?

Pinot Noir 2004
Riper and richer than I like, but CA Pinot lovers, check it out! Cherry, mocha, pomegranate and raspberry fruit. Pillows of dr’u’nkability

Cuvee Lisa 2004
50% Merlot, 50% Zweigelt
Not worth the ink. Non-descript red wine from ????

Riesling Sekt 1996
Beautiful red fruit (?), grapefruit, acacia flowers, sandalwood, lilacs. GREAT acidity. I LOVE THIS WINE!!!

***Grüner Veltliner 1977
Great fruit extract of tongue probing Pineapples and exotic fruit. Diesel, kerosene, citronella wax and pine. Wonderful cut and focus. A wonderful surprise for a very ‘unspectacular vintage. WOW!

Grüner Veltliner 1978
Lighter bodied, but interesting. Viscosity is minimal and the fruit faded. Much mineral and transparent –Diesel, aquavit, and steel. No where near the ‘77
