- 2017 Weingut Spreitzer Winkeler Jesuitengarten Riesling feinherb Alte Reben - Germany, Rheingau (3/20/2025)
Opened for and served with a tasting menu, this was in a fantastic drinking window. It had all the depth and richness of a Grosses Gewachs, with just a little bit of extra sweetness that played off the acidity to create a seamless whole. Good freshness, and it was flexible enough to pair with several of the tasting menu dishes, most especially the hamachi crudo and the cod with little neck clams.
