No wine Monday with miso black cod.

Tuesday pork tenderloin, saffron rice, spicy broccoli, and squash
2013 Rolet Arbois Pinot Noir
Light color, tart cherry and cranberry, a hint of green apple, fresh and floral, a PN on the rose end of red. B

Wednesday swordfish, leftover farro, salad
2010 Banfi Rosso di Montalcino
Better than the 2009 Belnero, but that’s a low bar. Red cherry with a touch of raisin, a bit of charred oak, a bit clipped on finish.B-/C+

2021 Vincent “Royer Vineyard” Chardonnay
Touch of matchstick, blows off with air, Bosc pear and candied lemon. Good body, balanced acids. B+/B

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

Didn’t know you had bought some Vincent. Did you get any Ribbon Ridge Pinot?

this was actually a wine I got in a trade covering someone else at a tasting. But I did buy some Vincent, arrived this week (spurring me to try the one I had). I think it was all 2022, 2 of this same vineyard Chard, and then 2 each of 2 PN bottlings, Temperance Hill and something else, but not Ribbon Ridge I think

His Ribbon Ridge Pinot may be my favorite Oregon wine. I’ll find a way to Pinot some sooner or later. Jim Cowan is a huge fan as well.

Indeed Jim is. Dale, if I can find my way out to your parts any time soon, I'll lug along an aged example of Vincent's Ribbon Ridge for you to try.
