1996 Hermanos Pérez Pascuas Ribera del Duero Reserva Viña Pedrosa - the Spanish certainly go in for lon wine names! Came across a bottle of this and figured it might be well past its due date so opened it with dinner. Almost Burgundian in colour, and the nose was a nice meld of wood and fruit. Smooth in the mouth and elements of black fruit and dill developed. Medium length, smooth finish. Likely better 5 years ago but still presentable now. Will have to survey some of the older Spanish wines in the cellar but some hold up very well - Pesqueras from the 90s for instance.
