…that I have not already used
- 2007 Weingut Spreitzer Oestricher Lenchen Riesling Kabinett - Germany, Rheingau (4/30/2025)
Nearly eighteen years old and shockingly youthful, with a pale yellow color, bright, ripe fruit, and all the baby fat of a new release. This is the most fresh 2007 Riesling I have had from any German producer in the last several years. It is more like a Spätlese in style, so that likely helps, and the screw cap seal did its job, so maybe ten more years before this is really going to show maturity? It’s darned tasty now, but so young.
