Tried this new Red from Ridge ATP shipment last night at Pig+Fig:
1. Ridge FredianiRanch/NapaVlly (14.1%; 40% Valdiguie/37% PetiteSirah/23% Charbono; 57 brls; bttld April 2024; water & tartaric additions; Drk: 2/24-2/34: SR) 2022: Very dark color; fairly fragrant grapey/Gamay-like bit earthy/licorice some peppery/PS fairly strong vanilla/Ridge oak bit complex classic Ridge nose; bit soft fairly rich/lush strong grapey/Gamay bit earthy/peppery/rustic strong vanilla/Ridge oak flavor w/ light tannins; med.long finish that tracks flavor; a rather rustic/grapey classic Ridge red; needs some age; quite an interesting Ridge red. $42.00/$37.80 (ATP)

1. This was really a fun/unusual Ridge red. It reminded me a lot of the old Ridge Gamay York Creek '71 of yrs ago. Also reminded me a lot of the BV Special Burgundy wines of yrs ago. Valdiguie was for yrs known as Napa Gamay variety. But no real relationship to true Gamay
