1995 Ch. Gazin - came across a single bottle of this Pomerol while hunting through my clarets looking for what to open for next month's wine lunch. It was a singleton so I decided to open it with dinner. Should have bought more - while it was less forthcoming on palate - seemed withdrawn a tad - the nose was wonderful, a melange of chocolate truffle and dark (cherry/raspberry?) fruit. 1995 was a vintage I bought more heavily in than most after attending a Bill Blatch tasting (I attended every tasting en primeur he presented in Vancouver - sadly, he passed on this March). Guess it is time to start sampling my 95s (I laid down quite a few cases)
