- 2012 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée (5/10/2025)
Tasted over the course of two evenings, this was a good, though not at all great M-G VR. No surprise given the vintage, but I was hoping for a little more depth. Instead it was more of a pretty wine which is its own virtue. Very floral, with moderate red fruits, and some sous bois elements that appeared with air. Balance is lovely, with more of an acid than tannic core, so it was not at all drying. I actually preferred sipping this on its own, as flavorful food drowned it out to a great degree. The last glass, after dinner, was a charming drink.
