Damn! Never expected this from an Oregon Syrah. Then again I have had maybe three, including this one. Cool, red and blue fruited, smoky, and brightly acidic, it made a deft impression of St. Joseph. Light to medium bodied, it cozied up to our black bean tacos, and made itself at home. Still relatively youthful, there’s plenty of depth for mid-term aging, though I really like it NOW!

I quite liked this recently as well, exceeded my expectations for OR Syrah.
But I almost gave up on title. I looked up Lefty's #, 32 not 2. Neither Cardinals or Phillies wear green. And then I finally saw appellation. Overthinking!

Carleton and Schmidt were my two early baseball heroes.
