- 2011 Rhys Pinot Noir Home Vineyard - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, San Mateo County (5/13/2025)
Ten years since my prior bottle, and while this is still not a vintage I favor, the wine is very good, just not my cup of tea. The fruit runs to cranberry and watermelon (two things I do not like in wine), but beyond that is a developing (yeah, 14 years and still developing) sous bois which makes the wine immensely more interesting. On the lighter side of medium bodied, but still with significant aromatic and flavor impact, I think this would be better for Anderson Valley Pinot Noir fans than those looking for a Santa Crus Mountains experience.
