Tried this new wine last Sun w/ Laura:
1. Deauratus GrenacheBlanc MichaudVnyd/Chalone (13.9%; Drk: 3/24-3/29-3/30: EB; [www.DeauratusWine.com](http://www.DeauratusWine.com); 175 cs) Deauratus/Gilroy 2023: Med.dark gold color; rather fragrant floral/pear/GB bit subdued slight stony/mineral rather Rhonish some complex nose; fairly tart rather rich structured lightly floral/GB/pear/melony some stony/chalky/mineral somewhat savory fairly complex rather Rhonish flavor; very long/linger structured finish that tracks flavor; quite a nice rather Rhonish-style expression of GB. $36.00

More Ratusfick from TheBloodyPulpit:
1. This is a new wnry of EricBauer & Shun Ishikubo. They both worked at Ridge/MonteBello for quite a few yrs. They both went to the NapaVlly to make Cabernet for Foley Estates. That worked for a number of yrs and then they decided they both wanted to return to the SantaCruzMtns and they started up Deauratus, making a number of different wines from a number of sources.
Eric has made GB at Ridge for a number of yrs. They were always a favorite of my ATP wines because of the intense floral GB character they showed. So I was a bit surprised by this GB. It was not as intensely floral/GB and rather subdued in aromatics but showed lots of structure and rather savory/Rhonish character. I think w/ some 3-8 yrs of age, it will evolve into a very interesting GB.

Checked out the link you provided. I was actually curious about the name, which I now know means 'golden'. Suits the wine you describe, though I realize that wasn't their purpose as they also make two reds.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
