Found this new Zin on the shelf Sat & thought I'd give it a try:
1. Valravn Zin SonomaCnty (14.5%; + PetiteSirah/Grenache field blend) V&B by Valravn/Healdsburg 2022: Very dark color; strong Am.oak/vanilla some DryCreekVlly/raspberry rather blackberry/Zin some dusty/OV light earthy fairly intense not particularly distinctive nose; rather soft bit alcoholic/hot strong blackberry/plummy/spicy Zin some dusty/OV strong vanilla/Am.oak bit simple flavor w/ ample/chewey tannins; very long blackberry/Zin finish w/ chewey tannins; a fairly decent rich/ripe/licorice Zin but not particularly distinctive; needs some 2-6 yrs of age yet. $23.00 (SFW&S)

Valravn focuses on making a variety of wines from SonomaCnty. This wine comes from two old Zin vnyds in the DryCreekVlly over 40 yrs in age.
