We tried this Idaho Syrah last night at our Pig+Fig tasting:
1. Sawtooth Syrah SnakeRiverVlly (14.8%; 85% Syrah/7% Cinsault/4% Viognier/4% Mourvedre) Caldwell/ID 2007: Very dark color w/ light bricking; strong blackberry/Syrah/plummy very c-c/black pepper/peppery strong toasty/Fr.oak fairly complex nose; lightly tart fairly strong blackberry/Syrah/very spicy rather c-c/black pepper strong toasty/Fr.oak very spicy structured/complex flavor w/ modest chewey tannins; very long/lingering spicy/peppery finish that tracks the flavor; surprisingly youthful expression of c-c Syrah that should go another 2-5 yrs.

1. I was quite impressed by this Syrah from an area I'm not very familiar with. It reminded me a lot of some of the CharlesSmith WashState Syrahs, a bit of some Val d'Aosta Syrahs, I've had. It's not showing a whole lot of evolution or starting to crack up from the age. They also make a Nebbiolo I'd love to try and some interesting whites.
