Sometimes you’re on a good streak!

Thursday bluefish Dijonais, caprese, salad
2018 Ferret Pouilly Fuisse
Ripe apple and tangerine, a touch of vanilla, rich and full but not flabby or overripe like some 2018s. Deep long finish, pretty satisfying. B+

Friday was Loire night previously posted.

Saturday I got Betsy from airport, and then we had a nice dinner- flounder, broccoli rabe and parmesan cuscinetti , spinach.
2005 D-E Defaix Cote De Lechet Chablis 1er
Apple, citrus, almond, in a good place, minerally finish if not exceptionally complex but quite tasty. B+

Sunday we had a friend of Betsy’s stay over before heading home to NZ today. I made Ottolenghi’s black lime salmon and grilled some local corn, Betsy made a white bean/celery salad and some rice.
2022 Brun/Terres Dorees L’Ancien Beaujolais VV
Always a winner, but this is a particularly good vintage. Red cherry and cranberry, a touch of bitter herb, hightoned and fresh. Just straight out fun wine. B++

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
