2023 Domaine Dupeuble Pere et Fils Beaujolais Rosé Gamay (Kermit Lynch Imports)
Six months ago I raved about this one as rose petals, strawberries and white pepper; fresh yet dry with perfect balance. Extra time in bottle had added a lot of depth. I bragged that I'd go back for the rest, and I did--all two of them.
I opened this last night for a girlfriend phone chat with someone I met as a result of this forum decades ago. She was the wife of a frequent poster and we were all invited to dinner at the home of another frequent poster. I had not seen or talked with her since, but she friended me after her husband did on Facebook, and then they got divorced, and now my Bob is gone, and so we've commiserated on each other's lives' significant changes but hadn't forged a separate personal friendship. Last night, all that changed.
This was absolutely the perfect wine for serious girlchat. Love, loss, bra size, Joe Dressner--all sorts of things got covered. Lighthearted and serious with both laughter and tears and now we're more than acquaintances, we're solid friends and a lot like this wine: time has added a lot of depth!
